What I confirm again and again is that a full frame sensor camera like a D700 takes better pictures than any other camera I own. Digitally anyway. Soon there will be a 6X6 project for here. Always something to keep it interesting. The only reason I still do this is it's interesting.

Ezra Caldwell died earlier this week from cancer. My friend Dave lost his mother to cancer last year and then lost his brother to cancer today. My daughter's mother was lucky enough to have survived cancer this past year.

It's staying light later which is good when I'm riding home from work at 9pm. Not "work" work, but putting some stuff together in the shop after work. Long days, and more coming.

Saturna Island. This picture is straight out of the camera with no processing. Fuji's colour rendering is pretty unique and spectacular, like it's Fujicolor Pro 160 film, right out of the camera.

I've been meaning to try this forced perspective idea for a while. The picture is taken from an angle and forced into elevation view. It's not quite there yet, but it's still an interesting idea. I'll try it again soon.

I picked up some oxygen and acetylene yesterday. And a new hose. Then I brazed up a couple of cable guides for a road bike I've been working on for years, I mean, for a road bike I started a long time ago but haven't worked on in years. It felt good.

I feel like I ride on planes a lot. Today I'm riding on this one to Calgary. I hope it's not snowing there. It's May, so it might be.

There was little energy left to expend on the facade after the landscaping had been completed... (such a beautiful hedge)

Hiking in the woods. It was raining, and it was impossible to keep my lens clean and dry after the first hour so many shots were missed. More plastic next time. And more dry towels. Hopefully more shots as a result. Or hopefully more sun. That would be good too.

She learned how to fold paper hats at school. She now has a very large collection of paper hats, some with feathers, some with paper cranes attached to them.
