Notre Dame, no ferris wheel.
It's part of a series of five, maybe six images, that take images of monumentals and skews their scale and minimalizes them, makes them happenstance, relics in a landscape. This, and the Louvre shots will be kept company with images I already have of the Opera Garnier and the Arc de Triomphe. Tomorrow I hope to capture the Eiffel Tower and if time permits the sixth image will be Versailles. One needs a city like Paris to attempt such a project. It's good to be here.

I went into Paris again today, lugging my camera with two lenses once again, and I went to take a photograph only to find I had left the battery for the camera on the charger in the hotel. I've grown accustomed to having this camera with me everywhere lately, well, 226 days later, and I didn't know what to do. I went adventuring for a photo store that sold Polaroids as I've though I might like to own one again recently but there were none to be had readily in Paris. I even thought about buying another digital camera. Instead I left the city early and took this picture nearer my hotel. I took the same picture four or five days ago but didn't use it. I liked it then and I like it now that I've taken it a second time.

I've added a new lens to the collection, a Sigma 10-20 zoom, and I'm off to France to figure it out. It's a better lens than the fisheye as it doesn't distort the image nearly as much. I suspect it will quickly become a favourite. I don't know if I will be able to update this page while in France so this might be the last picture for a couple of weeks.
