Day 6 on the road, and about 6 hours from home. "What do you want for breakfast?" "Pancakes." "Oh, do I have a treat for you." She ordered the chocolate chip pancakes with whipped cream topping. Damn near ate it all too.

I don't know if the resolution of this photo shows it but on the bottom of the raised hoof it says, "Definitely not made in China." I was only in the USA for 6 days but it's a lot different than Canada. I overheard conversations about health care, welfare, and more. It's a strange place.

Five dollar steak and a sixty cent potato. Some black pepper coarsely ground for the steak and a hot pan fry. Butter sauteed garlic and some sour creme and salt for the potatoes. (Yukon Gold, if you were wondering, the best for making mashed) So simple. So good.

Sophie and I went hiking today. The sun was amazing, the trails surprisingly dry, the rivers running fast and high with snow melt, such an amazing day.
