I'm pretending to be a hiker lately. My phone tells me I gained 153 stories of elevation, which means I came down that distance as well. 18,000+ steps. Once you're out of the trees there's the view forward, and the view backward. And both are beautiful.

This Russian 24 hour watch showed up in the mail last week replete with Russian stamps on the envelope. Automatic, with a date complication. It's a pretty neat piece.

That's Bowen Island for the few minutes the clouds cleared from St Mark's Summit trail. Then the clouds moved in, and the chipmunks, and the tourists. I mean, I'm a tourist, but considerably quieter than the gaggle of tourists who surrounded me while I tried to eat a peanut butter sandwich. I guess it's to be expected.

Canada Day. Hiked East Canyon, West Canyon, and Upper Falls in the Golden Ears park. The parking lot was a tourist zoo but the trail itself wasn't too bad.
