Pictures of cars. There are a number of them. Here's another. Yesterday too. They are usually older cars, probably always older cars. I'm not sure exactly what it is about them that's so appealing. I don't like driving them, new cars handle so much better, are faster, use less gas. Is it what they represent? A time when things were simpler? In so many ways we base how successful we are on how much we own. When this car was made there was no such thing as an iPod, a cell phone, a PlayStation, a computer, etc etc. Wanting this car is more about nostalgia than anything and nostalgia is a powerful drug. And still, I take pictures of old cars and more often than they appear here and will continue to do so.

I almost bought a muscle car a few weeks ago.

Two layers of drywall and then another layer of wall board. The room just got 3 inches wider.

It's black and white week.

So I missed another day. I didn't mean to but I fell asleep before I managed to get some pixels converted to some whimsical part of my day. I tried to make up for it by taking a photograph at dawn. It wasn't that I got up early to do this but I don't sleep a lot and when I'm asleep at 11pm I'm up at 5am. I suppose that's six hours, probably enough sleep for someone my age. I used to take a lot of photographs of sunrises. Lately I haven't so much. I'm sure there's some symbolic meaning to that but at the moment I don't know what it is.

I am finding more and more that landscapes are intriguing and John Hendry park, probably partially due to proximity, lures me again and again. It, like most urban landscapes, is completely contrived but is somehow comforting. And then people show up.

I think I'd like to take black and white photographs for a week. No good reason. Probably a few bad reasons. Bad reasons have never stopped me before.

I went to see the band Cracker tonight. 300 photos of the band and one of this booth in the bar.

There's something odd going on with this image when I upload it. The original on my computer isn't blurry in the branches but even though I've uploaded it twice now it appears fragmented and blurry. I don't know.

The days are easy to miss. Accidentally another one slips through my fingers without a single photograph taken. I guess it's okay. But not really.

With a view from the 7th floor of a building at the top Main Street, Ami's place is a beautiful place to sit with a couple of friends and drink too much white wine on a rare hot summer evening in Vancouver.
