Chantry Island has become a bona fide tourist attraction. They put a roof on the lighthouse keeper's house and there's a dock and everything for a tourist filled skiff to tie up to. I remember renting a tin boat and heading out there with a pack of matches for a camp fire, a bottle of Coke, and a bag of chips way back when I was 16 or so. We might have had life jackets but probably not. The bottle of Coke was glass and we screwed the top on tight and threw it in the fire and waited for it to explode. It did. And that was that.
