Beautiful night for a bike ride. This theater is on its last legs and it's sad. I mean, I understand that the future is one without movie theaters or many other things that are wonderful but it doesn't make it easier to see buildings like the Ridge or The Uptown destroyed, displaced, gentrified or whatever. The Ridge Theater site is destined to be a mixed use building with more condos and mixed retail. That probably means half million dollar artist studios and a Starbucks and a Subway. Fair enough. The supply of mediocre burnt coffee filtered through sand is lacking in this neighborhood and the demand for first run movies shown on a big screen is lacking. It's a shame the world I want to live in isn't the one that most people choose to live in. I hate Starbucks. And Subway. I like movies.
