Notebooks. The black one second from the bottom has been the standard for a decade. Moleskine. The bottom one is a Leuchtturm, the aficionado's Moleskine. The white one is a Japanese Midori grid paper soft cover book. The top one is the rock star notebook, Traveler's in "camel" with a grid paper and lined paper insert, and a custom made pocket for "stuff" like my Moleskine has and I use. Custom made means I cut up some cardboard and got out my tape and looped it into the elastic that holds this thing together.

I don't know. I think I'm overthinking it.
