18-10-10

I've had this camera a few years, but only recently re-acquired this model of lens. The old lens was lent to a friend, both have since disappeared. I've watched the internet for an affordable replacement. I almost had one a couple of times, but finally this one. It's a 35mm f/2, of decent quality, and nice and small. The camera is about as modern as it gets in the world of film.

Vancouver has been promised a few more days of sun, and it's been a while since I've shot film, and I've had this camera for way too long to not have used it properly, and I've missed that lens. So it's film again, for a week or so, or until the fall rain sets in.

The kid turned 12 a couple of days ago. Gifts happened tonight. She got signed up for archery lessons, this is proof she needs them.

Mr. Fish died today. Burial shroud was made. Another animal finds a home in the back yard.

It was the colours that attracted me to this image for today.

But I like the black and white version more.

Ever get the feeling of deja vu?

Home is where the heart is. And it's not where it's not. And there's some good space in between, too.

Dusty calls Meat Draw every Friday and Saturday night at the Legion. Tonight she won "Chase the Ace" by picking the Ace of Spades out of a deck that dimished by a couple of cards each week. Chase the Ace was worth $1150 this week, growing $50/week from the $500 it started at. She's the only one that could have won this prize where everyone felt good about it.

Dusty has stories. I don't doubt that for a second. I hope I get to hear one or two of them. If I'm lucky.

This is a pretty picture. This is what yesterday should have been. It's not real, or, not what the camera shot. It's a manipulation, most of what is presented here is. But it's not a bad photograph. Cameras don't take photographs like this. It isn't possible. This is a photograph idealized by Adobe and the companion computer I bought.

There's nothing wrong with that.

I can take pretty pictures. I know how.

Dirty. Cheating. But there it is. (see tomorrow...)

I think I've posted a photo of this before. Skilsaw is no longer "Made In The USA." It's a good saw. I've used saws 20 years newer that might be better, but that doesn't make this one  bad. Prized possession. It built me some steps lately. It will build more soon, I'm sure.
