With a nod to Charles Sheeler and Zac Braff

Today was my third attempt at taking this picture. It's almost where I want it.

When do we buy it and run away once and for all? How much is freedom going to cost?

It was cold today, really cold. I barely ventured out to get this image.

I should have more pictures of people in this.

The green of the mural is distracting but other than that I like it. I think a series of images of chairs in alleyways by back doors may be in order though. I've taken this picture in spirit a dozen times.

Makes you want to live there. Or not. I don't understand why this exists. I don't know how anyone would sell 40 hours of their life each week to live in one of these boxes.

Only 55 days to got until the completion of this project. I'm wondering if I will stop or if this has become too habit forming to let it end so abruptly.

Hidden narratives:

"I would have thought she would be asleep by now. I was counting on it..."

It was the great circus train wreck of 2007. Eli the Elephant lost his life, as did the ring master and the elephant trainer. The rumors of their elicit affair were never proven.

This one is very intriguing for me. Perhaps because it's a departure from the architectural theme, perhaps because it has a depth that many of the pictures have lacked lately. It's chock full of narrative and metaphor. And unlike the last driving picture it's taken from the driver's seat.

I've driven by this building dozens of times thinking I would like to take a photograph of it. There's been a decided architectural bent to these images lately. I'm not sure what that's about.

We've all seen them, the old photographs of post war suburban developments where there was so much hope and promise of a brighter future but now we have them in a contemporary context, and the photos still embody the idea of hope despite faded colours and being time warped into a time where new burdens have been thrust upon us and the shiny future promised us has turned out to mostly involve long work days and a fleeting idea of the American Dream dangled just out of reach (...if I work just a little bit harder...). These houses in this photograph are only a couple of years old. It's stupefying to think we still haven't learned.

A theme picture? Halloween? Dismembered, throat slit, impaled dolls? At least she seems happy about it.

It's showing signs of it's age, but I would take it over many newer models because it has character.
