Still shooting film. Different camera again. Different film, too, this time.

The new St. Paul's hospital. It's a 5 year project the size of a small town.

 Canadian Gothic.

More film. Different camera. The last set came out of a Pentax Spotmatic. This set came out of a Leica M3. 2 very different cameras.

Same photo, 2 ways. Homeward bound.

More film to come. I think. Why not?

Denman Island. And a home for a few days.

 Denman Island.

Island bound. Black and white is about light, that's a given, but film has a way of documenting distance better than digital. I love how the background fades away. It was a clear day. Blue skies. And it serves as a metaphor for a week off work, where getting away is part leaving one context and visiting another. The distance between the two is necessary for you to be truly "away." The first one was where I was going. The second on is leaving it all behind.

23-5-13

Black and white film for a bit. Film ain't cheap so expect a couple of doubles. Why not? The goal was to post a single photo every day. I had a goal? That first picture; and a 50+ year old technology for capturing images. Somehow the light is palpable.

The second image? People live in those cracks. The building is built to the property line. It's currently a parking lot, but it could be a building and those would be your windows. We build some dumb buildings...
