This is not a bad way to earn a living.

Two blocks away from where I live is a little section of power lines that don't really connect with anywhere, front or back. It's in a little alley that really doesn't go anywhere either. And there are always pigeons on it.

And I've taken this photo a dozen times.

If I had more energy I'd go back and find those pictures and superimpose them to see if I compose them the same way every time. I suspect I do.

I take a lot of architectural photographs. Elevations. Transitional spaces, framed, narrated, with shifting spaces behind. A low volume to the left, a canopy that extends to nowhere, and a double heigh space with clearstory windows.

Wide steps. You could simply stop and sit.

Doors without handles. But they have kicks. They open outwards, the kicks are on the wrong side.

Tension in transitions. Layers in depth and height.

It's a church. It's an intriguing building.

I'm pretty sure I've taken this exact photograph of this exact church before. I know for a fact I've taken a photograph of this church before.

"And the joke is rather sad

That it's all just a little bit of history repeating."

Propellerheads, with the marvelous Shirley Bassey singing.

I process in batches. Sometimes the photos are all the same. I live in the same place. I walk the same streets. The photos are, undoubtedly, going to repeat. Today.

Tomorrow.

Definitely over the weekend.

So it goes.

After the party is done, all that's left is the cleaning up.
