New bike. City bike. The mural confirmed my correct choice of pink touch up paint for the newly brazed on stops. Love this bike. Didn't like that I had to braze on stops to make it work. Also had to completely disassemble it to grease the interfaces, chase the BB, and swap out the seatpost that came with it for one where the bolts didn't touch the bottom of the seat when you weren't sitting on it. New seat too.

The bike industry is in trouble. Multiple sources agree. All-City is now a defunct brand in a sea of newly defunct brands. I liked it enough to buy one before they disappeared for good. Maybe it's my last bike.

New bike. New bikes need to be fixed. Derailleur housing should never be run full length from the shifter to the derailleur so I added a stop. Made a huge difference to how crisply the shifting was.

I know I've taken this photo before. I took it today 3 times. I can't be bothered to find the other one. 17 years of photos on here now. I don't have the energy to look for the other photo. It would be an interesting inventory control exploration. Pretty sure the transmissions on the top shelf haven't moved in a while.

One of the most livable cities in the world. If you can afford security cameras. Because people will steal your shit if you aren't watching every second.

I've tried to understand my fascination with cowboys. I suspect it has something to do with a "law of the land" approach where the simplest of credos dominates. "Don't fuck with other people's shit."

I just drew a cowboy. It wasn't until some time later that I remembered I had installed security cameras around the house.

It dawns on me that after all these years of doing this, one day Google™ may decide Blogger is a dead medium and just delete it. It's free. Who blogs anymore? Huh.

In the mean time, lens flare and a kid working on their car stereo for the win.

I have a new camera itch. I feel like there's a perfect two or three combo camera setup out there that would be perfect. I don't like the Fuji X100 cameras. I've had 3 versions of that camera. Maybe a Ricoh GRIII. It would be good for "street."

The bigger question is my main camera. My real camera. I've shot Nikon forever. The new Z cameras are interesting but Nikon is playing a game where if they make a focal length they won't license the mount to others. I like Nikon glass, but my favourite lens on my Nikon D750 now is the Sigma ART 35mm f/1.4. I bought mine on a random road trip to Calgary and it's been a favourite for 7 or 8 years now. It's the best lens I've ever owned.

This photo was taken with a Canon G5X Mark ii. It's the best pocket camera I've ever owned. I took it for walk today. Is there a full sized camera that is as discreet as the Canon? Sony makes a couple of really small mirrorless full frame cameras with a lot of lens options. Sony? For cameras? Why not? My only fear is Sony may say, "screw it. cameras are dead to us" in five years. Nikon has no choice but to continue on as a camera company. It's all they do.
