Pink skies at night. Sailor's delight. Here's hoping it's a predictor for 2022.

Bleach is not your friend. It rotted a hole in my new-ish work pants. It's inspired a sewing machine purchase and I traded continued shelter and nourishment with my spawn in exchange for her marginal skills with a sewing machine. Still, it's better than I could have done.

In case you can't afford a therapist, you could have these mugs for $1.25each.

 No picture today. No excuses.

Delirium Christmas beer. At 10% ABV, thankfully there was only one. And it was delicious. I'll drink another next year.

This house sold earlier this year. The new owners evicted the renters who had lived there for over a hundred years (exaggerating, but...). The energy level put into holiday decoration has waned somewhat.

Hibernating. Until spring? Until the end of Covid? Forever?

Covid burnout. It's real.

I like the lack of corporate identity or marketing strategy or....

I like its honesty.

I put the Christmas tree up early this year...

21-12-17

 Two for one day.

21-12-16

I guess I should get my Christmas tree out of the closet.

Foxbody. Convertible. 5.0. This car was loathed for years when it first came out but now... it's quickly becoming coveted for its light weight and performance potential. I don't know how I feel about the headlight shades but I love that this car still exists and people are still liking them this much.

21-12-13

I heard from an old friend today. I haven't heard from her in 3 or 4 years. Her mother had died.

"And we'll drink, not to forget, but to remember instead all our happy years."

I told her I'd raise one in memory.

 Osso bucco for 6. Epilogue.

 Osso bucco for six. Prologue.

Movie night with the kid. And chicken sandwiches.

A key to Henri's house. He was born in that house and lived there for 90 years. He's in supported living now. One key. I mean, I'm sure the locks wore out and were replaced over the years but, well, one key...

21-12-8

 Snowy day in Vancouver.

21-12-7

The espresso machine continues to exist in a non-working configuration. I need to extract it from my kitchen to have it repaired and I need to save up some money to fund that repair. It's plumbed in and some connections are made behind other things. In the mean time I have taken to kettles and French presses. And an orange tea towel to keep the second cup warm in the press. It's different. It's kind of soulful. It's more about process and ritual. I like process and ritual. At some point I should fix my coffee machine but I'm not in a rush.

 Sneaky Pete's.

This is the famous Movieland Arcade on Granville St. There's a "for lease" sign in the window. I've taken dozens of photographs of its iconic neon sign. Should I lament its loss? I've never stepped foot in the place. But I liked that it was there and now it's not.

Screen Door. Oh yeah, that picture of Stephen Lyons in the linked article, I took that photograph too.

I picked up my camera, put it on P mode, and pointed it to my right and took a picture. And that's that.
