Ever get the feeling of deja vu? Ever get the feeling of deja vu?

Then there was that time I found Mickey Mouse, passed out roadside, naked.

15-9-26

Summer clings on for a little bit longer. It's supposed to be nice tomorrow as well. It's a good thing.

15-9-25

It's been a strange week. Oscar didn't seem to think so. Oscar is a smart cat.

Phone camera. It takes terrible photographs. Even if the coffee is really, really good... the photograph... (the coffee was good. little things.)

15-9-23

Rae Spoon played a couple of songs tonight. What a pleasant surprise.

9 years old today. "This has been the best day ever!" she says. It was pretty good.

15-9-16

The most photographed (by me and others) landmark in Vancouver. It's about all I had time for today. That's alright.

15-9-14

Day 5. Homeward bound.

15-9-13

Nelson. A room with a view.

15-9-12

This lovely woman and I ate a delicious home made lunch, and just about an entire pie in her new home in Rimbey AB. A day doesn't get much finer than that.

15-9-11

New truck vs. green roof tarp. Prince George, BC. Priorities are in check.

15-9-10

Seton Lake.

15-9-9

Road trip. Starts tomorrow. Packed up the bike tonight. Five days. 2500kms or so.

Who doesn't want to save lots of money?

15-9-6

We walked to Granville Island today, pit stops at interesting points along the way.

15-9-5

The aftermath of welding up a rack for my motorcycle. There are at least 7 files you can see in this photograph. I used at least 10 to make the racks. And a 5 ton Record vice made in England. This is a space that makes me happy. There will be a motorcycle trip next week, or the week after. I'm sure there will be a photograph of the rack then, along with another space that makes me happy.

15-9-3

I ate some of this tonight. I don't know what it's called. Frankly, it doesn't matter.

15-9-2

15-9-1

You can't see it here, but these are pages from someone's journal from 1992. I don't know how they found their way to my front lawn 23 years later but there they are. There's a brief discussion about a boy she loves, or likes a lot, (what do any of us know about "love") and what to do when they graduate from high school, and a dream of travelling Manchester where "he" could get a job in the music industry and "she" could get a job in a cafe. Simpler times.

And the lyrics:

Days and night falling by
Days and nights falling by me
Soft blue horizons
Reach far into my childhood days
As you are rising
To bring me my forgotten ways.

Carefully copied out.

She must live near by.

15-8-31

These never stop amusing me.

And the city starts to discuss a new way to manage the trees in the city. Ummm, this is what trees do sometimes? Maybe someone should fine the tree for not conforming to city planning regulations.... "Streets must remain clear of tree limbs unless the tree limbs apply for a 'street occupancy' permit a minimum of two (2) weeks before the planned tree limb occupancy of any municipal street. The City of Vancouver reserves the right to refuse a 'street occupancy' permit for any reason."

There is so much I want to say about this photograph. So much. But I can't. I can't find the words.

15-8-27

This kid.

15-8-26

"We will work on Rosa Parks' car." Life should be so easy.

15-8-25

"We are open 24 hours now" One might hope for a business plan that lasts longer than a day....

15-8-24

The neighbor grows these grapes and makes wine out of  them every year. The crows have been hanging around a lot lately, they must be nearly ready.

15-8-23

And then home. The Southern Gulf Islands fade into the evening. .

15-8-22

I made porchetta for a dozen people today, maybe more. It was pretty incredible, but how can one go wrong wrapping one pork (tenderloin) with another pork (belly)? It was magical, but so were the people, including friends from Vienna.

Like Bina, who leaves in less than a week after being here for nearly four weeks. She'll be missed.

15-8-21

Sunset on the island, a fringe of it to the northwest is all we can see from where we're staying.

15-8-20

Vancouver fades away on the horizon.

15-8-19

15-8-18

The structure looks like it is collapsing in 2 different directions, but rather it would seem to be put together in the first place by a crooked man with a crooked crane living in a crooked house with a crooked mouse. The photographs look like they were taken by a drunk person with conflicting vanishing points and confusing angles. And aliens walking down the stairs.
