Artifacts (prologue)

Usually these pictures will stand alone and without explanation. Every picture with the exception of one so far has been "found." I like the idea of finding situations that are metaphors without intervention. This image is betrayed by the medium. Could you see it full resolution you would see the quote: "The test in life is not how far we go, but where we stand. Will we give in to selfishness and fear, or seek for others what we demand for ourselves: dignity and an equal chance." There was just too much irony in that to not take the picture, unfortunately this blog medium doesn't give us access to the competing scales of the image's message and so I'm left to offer an explanation.

I suspect (as the word "prologue" would suggest) that I will do a series of images exploring the idea of artifacts. This will be my homework over the next week, to come up with the images in concept and then to spend a week? compiling those images. I'm quite certain they will all be staged images unlike the found conditions that will probably continue to make up the majority of this project.

I promise to let you know when they start though it should be quite obvious, and I also promise to not be so verbose very often. But if you've made it this far, thank you for reading.
