13-6-22

The media was reporting that the moon was closer and brighter last night than any other night of the year. "Super moon", they called it. The moon should have appeared 14% larger but to the naked eye that difference would have been indistinguishable from how it normally looks. Still, I dusted off the tripod and got out my big lens and snapped a photo of it. I wonder about getting a lens doubler and getting an even closer shot of the moon. It seems like a lot of effort (and money) for one photograph.

But yes, it as pretty brilliant and bright and beautiful. It always is. Still, it's nice to be reminded to look up once in a while.
