On Kawara created time based art for most of his life. In his series Today, starting in April of 1966 up until his death in 2014, he often painted the date of any given day. 48 years. He didn't paint the date every day, but sometimes he would paint the date several times on the same day.
I took a bunch of photographs today but wasn't happy with any of them. So instead there's this. Who knows, maybe it'll be the same tomorrow. And the next 48 years, give or take...
