Two or three years ago I asked my kid to cut up some steel and make me speaker stand bases. He got distracted after the cutting part and I welded them together about a year ago. I bent them flat and prepped them for wood. Today I was in the wood shop at work and cut some scrap shelves and came home and trimmed them to size. and finally made the stands.
These speakers sound soooooo much better. Up a bit. Angled a bit. Huge difference.
And I hate that I've known this for five to ten years. And only just got around to making the change.
