The picture was probably enough. But down there in the lower right hand corner was one of those QR codes. It's about the first time I've, with genuine interest, retrieved my "smart" phone and scanned the little code in the corner to learn more about what was going on. I was pleasantly surprised that the image was the commodity. So often the image is used to sell something and so rarely is the image used to sell the image. I haven't had much time to explore the words on that web page, I'll admit I've been persuaded by the glossiness of it all, and maybe that's enough. Pretty pictures. Maybe I won't read the words for fear of disappointment. It's always a shame when the book doesn't stand up to the cover. Regardless, the phone came out of my pocket and I scanned and there it was, 21st Century technology showing me something I love; beautiful photographs. There's nothing wrong with that. Right? Right?

Apparently boys and girls are more similar than I thought.

No Instamatic, Hypsterstatic, Fantsamatic, Insomniatic, Fairiamatatric apps were killed for this image. But maybe a torrent of The Walking Dead was abused and a network profit was definitely compromised.

Buried a cat today. So long Fatty. You were good shit.

Brilliant. This is just the kind of thing I wish I'd been smart enough to come up with.

I took her to a cheap motel, bought her some wine in an effort to get her drunk, whispered sweet nothings in her ear, and still Miss Pegoretti left me. She's beautiful, and I'll miss her but we'll always have that one night in Calgary.

I'm driving to Calgary tomorrow. It might snow.

I think about buying a telephoto doubler for my 400mm lens. And then I realize I would take one photo of the moon and then sell it. Or rent an 800mm lens and use the doubler with that and take a photo of the moon. And then sell it. It's the moon. It's pretty amazing up close. And it looks pretty much just like this every time you take a photo of it.

I should take more pictures of people.

I got to ride it today. It's not mine but I wish it was. And it's inspired me to ride bikes again. It's been a while. It may be a while yet. I need to put something together I like riding. I have the bits, I just need to find the time to put it together and then the time to ride it.

It's been a long time since I've closed the doors of the shop, opened a bottle of wine, and put on some amazing music, and then built a bike. I did just that tonight. It was delightful.

I don't miss much about Calgary but I do miss the skies. The skies in Vancouver just aren't the same though they try.

There are no public toilets in Vienna. No legitimate ones anyway. The restaurants coffee shops you might normally turn to for relief charge 50cents to use. The result is every doorway becomes a place to relieve yourself in the wee hours of the night. I laughed out loud a bit when I saw someone had painted a urinal in the doorway of this building. Wonderful.
