22-9-29

Two wheels built. It's been a while. It feels good.

22-9-28

This is a picture of a picture on a monitor. I can't remember if it was posted here over a decade ago or not. Maybe. The novelty of working in the DTES wore off many years ago so there are fewer photos taken today. I was looking for another photo when I found this one.

(Insert metaphor about photos of photos and time travel and distortions of time and memory and the subversion of the notion of permanence and mortality. etc etc. This space no longer exists. Not like this anyway. And yet, here it is.)

 Teenager birthday parties...

 Clouds.

"I can feel it comin' in the air at night...."

Name the next lyrics. I think you'll be surprised. I was surprised I've had the lyrics wrong for 30 years. Old dogs...

Work log. There may be a law suit in there one day.

Exploring the world of cold brew coffee. It takes 12 hours, but not a lot of effort.

Full moon. Clouds. Forest fires.

Stop me if you think that you've heard this one before.

I keep taking pictures of the same things. Because I live in the same place. Maybe it's time to move. Or stop taking pictures.

22-9-5

On Kawara created time based art for most of his life. In his series Today, starting in April of 1966 up until his death in 2014, he often painted the date of any given day. 48 years. He didn't paint the date every day, but sometimes he would paint the date several times on the same day

I took a bunch of photographs today but wasn't happy with any of them. So instead there's this. Who knows, maybe it'll be the same tomorrow. And the next 48 years, give or take...

22-9-4

Nothing. No picture today. It happens. I'm getting used to it.

Kintsugi; As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise. Not only is there no attempt to hide the damage, but the repair is literally illuminated.

Tomahawk steak. Big enough to feed 7 people.

Beater watches. The one with the red trim will set itself daily by connecting with an ambient time signal broadcast across most of the world and is solar powered. The other one is a cheaper generic version. You have to set its time the old fashioned way. It's digital, and supposed to be very accurate, but it's gaining about a second a day. Stupid things; watches. My phone time is always accurate. Still, I like them.

I made a coffee table. It has a spot for books. I'll get my shit sorted one day...
